		<description>I completely agree.  Why not teach percentages by having children calculate rates of return?  Most of these subjects are related and should be taught as such.</description>

		<description>I wish we&#039;d place as much emphasis on personal finance and economics as we do some other subjects, like history and math. Besides, teaching kids about finance would supplement the other subjects as well.

Topics like the Great Depression, World War II, and the oil embargo would fit nicely within a history, current events, and economics discussion.

And what is finance/economics if not math?

It would be much easier to illustrate a mathematical point with a real-world example.</description>
