Mid-Week Wordpress Crashed Link Love
I had a semi Wordpress panic upgrading to version 2.5 and lost a few posts from the database I had prepared to publish in the next few days. My host assures me they can get them back, but in the meantime here’s some mid-week link love. Hopefully I’ll be back on track by tomorrow evening.
Carnival of Personal Finance #147
I’d like to thank Moneyning for his excellent work hosting this week’s carnival of personal finance, which included my post Forcasting Stock Returns Using Macroeconomic Growth Factors.
Personally, I’m not convinced on the whole Fair Tax idea and it doesn’t look like it will take center stage this November. Nonetheless, its supporters are growing and it the tax debate will come to a head at some point, so it’s best to be educated. Five Cent Nickel wrote a brief post entitled Would the “Fair Tax” Gut the Economy a few months ago but the loooooooooooong list of comments at the end of the post is the real gold mine.
Mr Cheap over at Four Pillars tells us how uptight the Canadian government is about crossing the border to buy booze. God Bless cheap American alcohol. Even Jesus left a comment.
Llama Money asks Does Real Estate Make Sense as he weights the pros and cons of buying a rental property. I have 150 acres of land in south Georgia that would make an ideal llama ranch if you’re interested.
And finally, Mrs Micah urges you to prepare financial information for your less-engaged spouse in case you’re abducted by aliens. Personally, I’m more concerned about a fatal accident or emergency, but I’m right there with you. Would you like to go shopping for tin foil hats this weekend? I have a feeling an alien probe would really ruin your day.

Don’t joke around like that – I’d love to have a llama ranch! Only I’m pretty sure my wife would leave me… I better pass on that land
Tin foil hats sounds good. And alien abduction sounds so much better than the alternatives. Maybe they’d be a peaceful society that would return me eventually and make me supreme ruler of the world…
Glad your site is up and running again!
The wp-cache plugin is a wonderful thing.
Thanks for the link! I was also quite impressed that the son of God dropped by our blog (and left a comment no less!)
