I forgot to submit posts to any carnivals this week (oops) but fear not, I still have some links to share. Here are some of my favorite articles from around the pf blogosphere this week.
Are we in a recession? Technically, we probably won’t know that until it’s over. But to those of us who don’t live in an ivory tower, whether or not we’re technically in a recession isn’t as relative to how the current economy affects our community. Here is a humorous piece on how to determine when we are in a recession at Penny Jobs.
Occassionally watching the idiot box CAN be educational. The Red Stapler Chronicles brings us some money lessons from famous movies.
It’s very difficult to be successful in your career if you’re working at a job you dislike. Sure the pay may be great, but are you really fulfilled? Improving your skills? Not caring anymore can be hazardous to your future wealth. Saving to Invest reveals 21 signs you’re losing interest in your job and may need a change.
I think the taboo against discussing salary and financial issues has to go. By keeping such things a secret, we give employers all the power in negotiations. How could you possibly know what your skills are worth on the open market unless you know what others with similar skills are making? Feminist Finance agrees and shares some resources for finding out how much others are making.
