Bloggers usually don't link on your Adsense ads, and the more ads you show without getting clicks the lower Google rates your pages - which could lower the amount you do get from each click. In the long run, quality incoming links increases your PageRank and your search traffic, which increases your traffic of people that are more likely to click an Adsense link.
