Ah Craigslist. Is there anything you can’t buy, sell, beg, borrow, or give away on there? Probably not, and that’s a good thing for those of you needing to pick up some extra cash in a tough economy. There are practically unlimited temporary job opportunities posted daily in almost every city from spending a few hours helping somebody move for $50 on a saturday to full-time positions at major corporations. It’s also a great place to pick up writing, editing, or web-design freelance work if you have the skills for that.
Odd Jobs
But besides the obvious for-hire stuff, there are a lot of really, really strange jobs on craigslist; most of them things you’ve never even thought of before. Take this job opportunity for a drunk adult clown, for instance. Apparently, these guys want to pay somebody to dress up in a clown outfit, drink heavily, and follow them around town. That’s it. Not a bad way to make an extra buck or two, I guess. Alternately, you can be a paid taste tester or participate in university research studies for pay. The possibilities are endless and many of these odd jobs actually seem like they’d be fun. Try it out. Sure beats begging.
