		<description>I don&#039;t think that Cover letters are as important as they used to be with technology these days since most resumes are scanned for power words before selection. I guess it all depends on the firm/industry.

Many people have suggested that when it comes to selling yourself, you should do it in a manner that displays the value you will add for the Manager/Hiring person. This person must see the direct value you will add with your employment. If they do not see it then chances are they will not hire you.

Another common mistake is the guilt trip or self pitty. The worst way to sell yourself is to try to make someone feel sorry for you, yet I have heard of many people trying this.  You will not find your dream job by making people feel sorry for you.</description>
