I agree, TOTALLY worth hosting one – Esp the Carnival of Personal Finance It’s def. a lot of work to get it decent looking (think 6-8 hours), but you can surely work on it in pieces so you don’t strangle yourself.

You get to check out a lot of cool sites and get major traffic for a few days….it’s a great experience even if you end up not liking it.

Thanks for the plug of my article. I haven’t hosted the CoPF carnival because I think it’s probably too much work – but I could be wrong.

Thanks for the mention – I never hosted the CoPF but carnivals are a lot of work. There’s some decent return on the time investment, but just be ready for a LOT of work.

Thanks for the metion. You should definetly host the carnival – a long but rewarding experience (just don’t do it while you are on holidays!!!) In terms of traffic, there has been a marginal increase. I thought it would be more, but it is the holidays and so less web traffic generally. Seen a small subscriber increase (+10).

I think the best thing was the presence building aspect as more people in the PF domain have now heard about my site. In the longer term this should be beneficial.
