Weekend Link Love And Call For Guest Posts
Call For Guest Posts
I’ll be on a cruise from next Monday, January 26 through Friday, January 30. I’d like to fill that time with a few quality guest posts. It can be on pretty much any topic having something to do with personal finance, investing, the economy, etc. This blog is a PR5 and averages around 600 uniques or so during the week plus 160 RSS readers, so you could potentially get decent traffic out of the deal, a few extra readers, and some pretty significant long-term SEO benefits.
If you’re interested, email me at kyle at [this domain]. I’ll need your posts by this Friday, January 23 at the latest. Short notice I know, but guest posting on other blogs is one of the best and easiest ways for newer, smaller blogs to gain recognition.

Curt from Penny Jobs gives 6 tips for college students to consider in light of the bad economy. I think starting a part-time business while still in school is a great idea. If things are going well, you’ll already have a head-start if you decide to give it a go full-time when you graduate. If not, you hopefully at least learned some valuable business skills.
Andy from Saving To Invest gives us a few signs it might be time to sell a stock.
Rich Credit Debt Loan asks if ETFs are a good way to create a secondary income stream. My feeling is that yes, they can be great tools for that. There are a number of dividend-focused ETFs out there, such as DVY, that are currently paying yields of almost 6%. Now is a great time to be an income investor if you have capital to invest!
Passive Family Income asks if the rules of retirement are changing.
Millionaire Acts relates the secret of the wealthy: they make the bulk of their income passively!
Around The Web And Carnival Of Personal Finance
Thanks to The Writers Coin for hosting this week’s carnival of personal finance and including my post Arguments Against Investing In A 401k.
Main Street (a partner site of TheStreet.com) had a good article about how to safely exceed FDIC Insurance limits that’s well worth a read if you have a lot of cash in the bank.
The Tight Fisted Miser suggest 5 radical ways for the U.S. government to raise revenue. Some of them aren’t half bad! Although I’d stop short at selling naming rights for national monuments, I wouldn’t have a problem with something like “Fedex Presents: Yellowstone National Park.”
Lazy Man brings us this post on getting VIP treatment on a slim budget. This post reminds me of the time a few friends and I dressed up in suits, went down to the Ferrari dealership (in a Toyota), told them we were “wealthy industrialists” and wanted to test-drive the fastest car on the lot. They treated us like royalty and it was a lot of fun.
Money Grubbing Lawyer’s client wrote a guest post entitled Prison Taught Me Everything I Need To Know About Personal Finance. Apparently prison is a very educational experience.
