There is a great web site called Movearoo.com that allows you to compare pricing on these monthly recurring bills to compare what you are paying to what is now available. If you bundle some of these services you can save money. Also, in some areas, you have choices on eletricity and gas providers too and could find that is another way you could save.

Pricing out all existing insurance policies including car, health, life, homeowners, etc can also lead to significant savings.

These are big expenses that can add up more quickly than some of the everyday ones mentioned above.

I think people have to look at all of their expenses as a whole and figure out what is most important to them and what they are willing to do for it. The money has to come from somewhere. Sometimes that means cutting out the designer coffee in the am or bringing lunch to work. Sometimes it means cutting back on the premium cable channels or scaling back on a vacation.

The latter factor is a great way for people to realize how little expenses add up but it's by no means the only way to trim fat and save.
