I don’t know what you drive, but I get a “Maintenance required” light if I go too long between oil changes (or the guys forget to reset it). But you can reset it without an OBD reader. On my Honda CRV, you push in the trip odometer reset button and hold it while you turn the ignition key to “on.”

Probably doesn’t hurt to click your heels together three times, too.
