Weekend Link Love

Due to my procrastination, I spent the entire day inside doing my taxes on what has so far been the nicest weather of the spring.  No pool time for me :(   If you haven’t started your taxes yet, well, you’re probably screwed.  But I used TurboTax Home & Business and I highly recommend it.  I will definitely be using it again next year.  Incidentally, it asked me if I received a stimulus check 2010 for social security recipients.  Was that payment supposed to be retro-active on 2009′s taxes or something?  Freakin’ government.

Carnival Of Personal Finance – Blogthority.com Relaunch Edition

Okay, so the theme of this(last) week’s carnival of personal finance borders on shameless self-promotion, but there were plenty of good articles to read this week (or actually last week, since I forgot to do a round-up last weekend).  Thanks to Mike for including my article Online Resources For Your Credit Report Questions in this (last) week’s carnival.

Dividend Growth Investors brings us The Right Time To Sell A Dividend Stock.  I think I would definitely sell one if it stopped paying a dividend.  Otherwise, I’m not sure.  It’s been so long now since I’ve bought an individual stock.

Fiscal Geek brings us Why Tax-Deferral May Be A Sucker’s Bet.  Most people just assume their 401k tax break is a good deal.  Whether or not that’s true depends entirely on future tax rates.  Do you know what those are?  Me neither.

Darwin’s Finance doesn’t like the new Health-care bill.  I was going to write my own post on the subject, but then I got lazy and forgot.

Carnival Of Personal Finance – Unanswered Questions Edition

Another excellent carnival of personal finance, this time hosted by Mighty Bargain Hunter and including my article How To Determine Mutual Fund Holdings With Morningstar.

Modern Gal asks Why Does Spending Money Make Us Feel Good?  I know why, but the answer would get my site banned from Google.  I imagine it’s the same reason why some guys drive Hummers, though.

Independent Beginnings asks Would You Risk Your Baby’s Life To Avoid Debt?  No.  I’d probably risk your baby’s life, though.

Studenomics ponders when to go full-time with a side business.  A better question, I think, is whether you should make a huge scene at the office when you tell your boss you quit.  Just think, you’d be an office legend.  I bet Milton in Office Space was based on a real guy.

It could be tempting to make a scene before you quit. Heck, I’ve made scenes at jobs without even quitting lol.

    thanks for the mention Kyle!
