my2fish, Mint.com offers great functionality, but I don't recommend them for personal reasons. They seem to have "trouble" paying their debts.

I tried using MS Money, but didn't like it (years ago), so I then used Quicken religiously for years, tracking everything in every account (but didn't bother tracking cash). Even after they got most of my accounts working with transaction downloads, I was still notoriously slow at updating it all (confirming stuff, etc).

Then I bought a Mac, and heard the horror stories about Quicken for Mac. I looked at some other Mac options, but none seemed to enticing. That's when I switched to just using Mint.com - it's free, it's automatic, and I love it. Sure, it's no where near as powerful as Quicken (the full program), but it does what I needed most - it tracks spending, categorizes most things automatically, and will give me budget information to gauge our spending. Does it do tax reports? Not that I know of. But after 5 or so years of doing my own taxes, I know what stuff is important and needs to be kept for filing taxes.

For me, the most important thing has been the time saved trying to track and coordinate every little thing in Quicken - I just no longer have to do that. It has been well worth it to me.

cheers, my2fish
